Beit Trust Postgraduate Scholarships for African Students –

African students can now apply for a postgraduate scholarship for the 2024/23 academic year at South African or UK universities sponsored by the Beit Trust.

The Beit Trust is a partnership between three universities in South Africa and six universities in the UK to fund those who want to study and gain a university degree. The cooperation of universities helps spread costs, in order to increase the number of scholarships that the Bayt Trust can fund.

Eligibility criteria for the Beit Trust Postgraduate Scholarship:

• Only students from Zambia, Zimbabwe and Malawi residing in their countries who wish to return to them upon completion of their studies can apply.
• Candidates can apply for a two-year master’s program at a South African university and a one-year master’s program at a UK university.
• All candidates (except doctors and veterinarians) must be under 30 years of age on 31 December 2024.
• Doctors and veterinarians must be under 35 years of age on December 31, 2024.

Scholarship Benefits:

• Fees, tuition costs and related academic expenses are fully covered.
• A personal allowance linked to an index from an independent party that covers maintenance support.
• Another stipend for arrival and departure and a computer are provided.
• The economy class ticket will be paid to the study destination and final return.
• Any expenses that may arise in 2024/23 due to remaining Covid protocols will be covered

How to apply:

Interested candidates should apply by following the procedures outlined:

• Apply to any of the partner universities in the UK or South Africa and be accepted onto a postgraduate course.
• The partner university must be notified that it will be contacting Beit Trust and must also indicate any work experiences.
• The Fund must be notified once the application is submitted to the partner university and must be informed of the course chosen for application.
• Please confirm your nationality to the Trust; Zambian application forms for confirmation should be sent to the following email address: [email protected]
• Candidates from Zimbabwe and Malawi should send their applications to [email protected].
• You may upload applications and all supporting documents online through the scholarship application link before the deadline.

• A copy of your offer letter from a partner university in the UK. Or a PDF document listing the university/universities and course/s you have chosen to apply to at your partner South African university/universities.
